Who we are
A studio that builds useful things
PickleByte is the development arm of ModBox — a Kendal-based studio that creates, designs, develops, and prints. While ModBox covers vinyl, print, and broader design, PickleByte focuses on apps, websites, PWAs, AI integration, and custom software.
We're based at Unit 2, Pickle Byte, Mintsfeet Rd S in Kendal, serving the Lake District, Lancashire, and clients further afield. Our stack is pragmatic — PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, modern CSS — chosen because it works on real hosting, scales sensibly, and doesn't lock you into a vendor.
We listen first, then design and build a solution that fits. No bloated templates. No pretending a WordPress theme is custom work. No enterprise bloat when a sharp tool will do.
